Asthma Inhalers

Most insurance companies have placed restrictions on which asthma inhalers they will cover and they do not share this information with physicians. If you have been informed by your insurance company or pharmacy that your inhaler is no longer covered, please call the number on the back of your insurance card and find the covered alternative using the image below to find comparable medications.

For example, if you currently take Flovent, look in the Orange – Inhaled Corticosteroid section and find which is covered. If you are on Symbicort, check the Olive – Combination Medications section.
